Planning Animatic

This is our animatic of our opening sequence. I used the blackberry calender to know when the deadline was to upload this video.

Time Management

To manage my time during this project, I have put all critical deadlines into my Blackberry calender. The blackberry will alert me on the day that I should be uploading something new onto my blog. This will enable me to not only stay on top of my work but keep everything in order it helps me know what I've got coming up as well because I need to place all different deadlines into the calender to begin with.
I have downloaded a Blackberry App called ''Screen Munch'' this enables me to print screen my calendar so I can display the different deadlines I've entered and show them in a blog post.

Synopsis

Our opening sequence targets three girls getting ready for a night out. They will all be linked by time, it will be the same evening and they will be getting ready at the same time but from three different settings. One girl is going to have a really ‘rocky’ ‘grungy’ look. Her setting will be in a messy room clothes thrown everywhere, and loud music. Her outfit will be black sexy without looking gothic. The second girl is really neat and perfect. A very doll like feel about her presence, with straight blonde hair cute little dress flat shoes with quite soft acoustic music in the background. And finally the third girl will be very unusual and vintage looking, with a strange but attractive taste in outfit. Quirky hair accessories, that stands out more the conventional teenage type of crowd. She will have reasonably unknown artist perhaps unrealised songs (ones that won’t be recognised by audience) to show the abstract features of her personality. It will show them doing everything in about the same period of time but not repeat else it will get boring, so you see one girl doing her hair really messy and the other straightening hers all neat. This shows Levi Strauss’s binary opposition theory with all the girls are friends yet have very contrasting appearances.

Audience Research Focus Group Meeting Analysis

Once we had posted our moodboard and our target audience montage onto our Facebook research group we managed to get some feedback seeing what they all thought.

Although we didn't get as much feedback as we would have hoped it was however all positive. People saying how it clearly represented the age and gender of people we were targeting. We did receive one response from an older viewer. However we chose not to include this in our final review from our target audience because after deep discussion we decided that even though woman do watch chick flick they normally have different narratives than teenage chick flicks. A 30/40 year old woman isn't going to be interested in the same things at a teenage girl.

After much discussion between Ashleigh and I we decided that the genre we chose was the best one to do as it has quite a large range of people that can watch it.

Audience Focus Research Group

The next thing we did was we create an audience focus research group on the social networking site 'Facebook' as we thought it would be the easiest and quickest way to present our ideas and get a high level of feedback.

we had a larger group of 14 but we decided to minimize that to a group of 4.
